A Wrinkle In Time
I was contacted by Mr. Dayan to prepare a medium format camera system for his upcoming shoot for the movie poster. He wanted to shoot two separate cameras at the same time from two different angles capturing the strobe setup we were to build on the day of. I have done this with 35mm cameras and more specifically Nikon due to the consistent shutter lag time they have. Mr, Dayan wanted to use the Phase one XF system, a beautiful state of the art well built camera. I began testing the setup for two weeks knowing that the mechanics of the larger cameras were slower and would be tricky to time correctly to achieve the goal. After extensive testing with not much luck I gave it a try on the Hasselblad system after a few attempts and a bit of math the timing worked!
Here I am setting up the rigging on the second camera on a crossbar as we begin our light testing. The second camera can be seen behind me on a boom arm for ease of use. It had to be balanced for when Mr. Dayan wanted to step away and direct the talent he could let go and the camera would stay exactly where he put it.
