I had so much fun over the years working with Frank and usually at the same time FX Networks. I rarely felt so surrounded by talented individuals and such free reign to create with seemingly endless concepts dreamt up by the team of creative directors on the FX sets. Frank has such a talented group of hard working assistants that are capable of building intricate lighting setups on the fly.
We shot these wasteland shots on a large set built with rear projection screens. We balanced the ratios of the brightness of the projections with the camera strobes in order to have the shots all in one. I worked with the projectionists to provide prepared backgrounds that worked with the subjects.
